We arrived at the CB in VA on Wednesday at 00:30 and were on our way by 07:30, neither of us slept well but we were glad we only had to drive about 3.5 hours to get to the Oregon Inlet Campground where we intended to spend a few nights.
The drive was easy and we arrived before lunch. The temperature was nearly 80F, it felt great to be in shorts and a tee shirt. For this time of year, the campground was pretty populated but we had no problem getting a site right next to Paul and Lisa, they were on C23 and we are on C21.
We stayed here in the spring of 2023 with Jean and Ed, it is a very nice camp ground with lots of space.
After unloading the scooters we took a short scooter ride to a place for a nice lunch, the Sea Chef. (I had a burger....)
After lunch we strolled the water front, it was great to get out walking after driving for the last 24 hours. The restaurant is directly across from the US Coast Guard station, they were headed out, with a full complement of soldiers....probably training.
The girls decided to walk back to camp, it was such a beautiful day.
We got back to camp mid afternoon and the girls went for a stroll on the beach. Paul and I decided to sample some Scotch I brought. It came from Cass's step dad, John. It was a gift for helping him with his RV after the rains during Gabe and Cass's wedding last fall. It was Johnny Walker Blue Label. I am not a regular scotch drinker, but the JW Blue was really good, especially with a nice cigar.
We spent the rest of the afternoon just relaxing, and not really worrying about what is going on in the rest of the world. Paul made a nice roast for dinner.
We did a short walk on the beach, it was very dark but the stars were ablaze.
We did not walk far for fear of not being able to find our path to the campground, the darkness is pretty complete on the beach.
We did play some poker, Black Jack, before going to bed. It was fun because no money was involved. :)
We are not sure what we will do today but will likely take the scooters touring a bit.

This is a beautiful location, right on the ocean front. We had a relaxing afternoon and evening.
